SANFORD---A private showing of the movie
Unplanned has been scheduled for Smitty’s Cinema, located on 1327 Main Street in Sanford, on Tuesday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m.
The Diocese of Portland encourages all people, whether pro-life or pro-choice, to attend a viewing of this movie which is currently showing in theaters across the country.
The movie tells the story of Abby Johnson, who was one of the youngest Planned Parenthood directors in the country. Her passion surrounding a woman's right to choose led her to become a spokesperson for the organization until the day she saw something that changed everything. After she was asked to assist in an abortion at 13 weeks gestation, she resigned and became a pro-life activist, founding a ministry to assist former Planned Parenthood employees who turned against abortion after similar experiences.
To secure a private showing contract, organizers were required to order $1,000 worth of food and beverages collectively as a group ($8 per person on average) and pay $10 per person for admission.
If you would like to attend, please email
[email protected] or call the St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish office at (207) 324-2420 to reserve a seat. Any payment can be made at the theater on movie night.
