PORTLAND---Jeffrey Lewis (pictured below) served as a firefighter and paramedic for many years, earning the respect of public safety personnel and the various Maine communities he served.
The tragic events of one particular day, and a confluence of inspiring people in the moments and weeks that followed, led to his conversion to the Catholic Church, and ultimately, his ordination to the permanent diaconate in 2011.
On Monday night, September 28, at 8 p.m., Deacon Jeffrey, who serves at St. Michael Parish (Augusta) will share his remarkable conversion story on “The Journey Home” with Marcus Grodi, a nationally-televised program on EWTN.
Raised as a member of the Episcopal Church, Deacon Jeffrey will describe his path to Catholicism for viewers and explain how the tragedy made him see how deep God’s love is and always will be.
“I hope that people who watch the program take away that God is speaking to each of us, ever so gently, ever so persistently, in hopes that we will stop our hectic lives and listen to his call for us,” he said.
