In a time of decreased opportunities for gathering together to discuss their common faith, young adult Catholics in Maine are invited to join each other for the first “Holy Hangout” on Wednesday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m.
“The sessions will be held on Zoom and are meant to bring together young adults to engage in conversation,” said Hannah Gonneville, an assistant coordinator in the Diocese of Portland’s Office of Lifelong Faith Formation. “We are simply getting together to enjoy each other’s company and the conversation that the Holy Spirit inspires us to have, whether it’s a conversation about favorite movies and television shows or a more serious conversation about our Lenten journeys.”
The “hangouts” will last about an hour and then conclude with a prayer. Any Maine Catholic in their 20s or 30s are encouraged to attend.
“This idea came up as I thought about how many young adults, including myself, have missed being able to connect and converse with each other before social distancing protocols were put in place,” said Hannah.
