In an effort to thank area law enforcement officials while raising money for one in need, St. Michael Catholic School will hold a charity basketball game on Friday, February 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the gym at the school located on 56 Sewall Street in Augusta.
The game will feature St. Michael teachers, alumni, and friends squaring off against representatives from local law enforcement agencies. Admission is $5 ($20 for families of four or more).
All funds raised at the game will be donated to Augusta Police Chief Robert Gregoire as he continues to recover from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash last year that left him in critical condition.
On Wednesday, March 4, Bishop Robert P. Deeley will present a check with the proceeds to Chief Gregoire at a special school assembly at 1:30 p.m. Media members are encouraged to attend the basketball game and assembly.
